Mojo Monday Challenge #75

I made this card for this week's Mojo Monday challenge. It's for my friend who has been sick for over a week now...she's got a cold but even before that she had just felt crappy overall for a while. Her doctor ordered her to stay home from work and veg at home for the next few days, but she's been bored watching movies and bad TV all day. I think this will help cheer her up!

I tried to use scraps of paper for this card, so it isn't exactly how I would have done it if I used anything I wanted! I recently dug up a bunch of old stamps. Remember this cutie from D.O.T.S. days?!

3" x 3" card for my card swap

Every month my Close to my Heart team has a meeting. Each meeting we have the option to participate in a card swap. We make 10 of the same card, then everyone who participates swaps and takes home 10 different cards. It's a great way to get new ideas using the CTMH produts!

This is the card I made for my card swap this past week. It's a 3" x 3" card using the "stamp kissing" technique...only I did the technique backward. I first inked the flower (from the new Aspiration stamp set) in tulip ink. Then I "second generation" stamped it (stamped it on scratch paper to mute the color). Then I inked a background stamp from the new "intrinsic backgrounds" stamp set, also in tulip. I stamped the flower, already muted, onto the inked background stamp (kissing the stamps), so it stamped the flower background pattern onto the flower stamp. Then I stamped the flower onto my paper, thus giving the look you see in my card...

Inks used: Tulip and Juniper
Paper: Tulip and Colonial white cardstock
Tools: edge distresser
Stamp Sets: Aspiration and Intrinsic Backgrounds

Stationary set in a box

We made this CUTE little stationary box at my Close to my Heart meeting tonight. I'll try to get better pictures, but wanted to post it for now. This is very impressive-looking, and not that difficult to do. Let me know if you want to do a workshop for it!
Outside of the box...

The box opened up. There's room for some 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" cards in the back
and some 3" x 3" cards and tags in the front...

I'll definitely be making more of these!

My Funny Valentines

I made valentines for all my co-workers. The "baskets" are made from paper towel tubes cut into approximately 2" pieces, then wrapped in paper and given a handle. I taped a 2" scallop punch to the bottom and filled with m&m's. They each also got a mini valentine card.

So Charming

I made these wine charms this weekend! They aren't made of paper as my blog title suggests, but sometimes I feel like busting out the beads. (I do anything crafty, not just papercrafts.) I just love super sparkly stuff, and have gotten the itch to make wine charms lately, so I used sparkly Swarovski crystal beads with these cute charms I found.

I'm selling them in my Shop Handmade store. Whatcha think?

Mojo Monday Card Challenge #73

I killed two birds with one stone when I made this card! This is the first week I've taken part in Mojo friend Mandy told me about it. I'm making a bunch of valentines for my co-workers, so I used the sketch for this week's Mojo Monday challenge for my little 3" x 4" valentine!

This was the sketch to use for the Mojo Monday challenge:

GLITTER Valentine Card

I played with spray adhesive tonight! And lots of glitter and rhinestones...and NEW stamps! Lots of fun! Of course us girls appreciate our glitter and rhinestones more than our hubby/boyfriend will, but they still appreciate the thought behind it :) And what fun is making a card without some bling?

I made this card for a Valentine's day card-making party I'm having with some friends this week. If you want to come make this with us, cost is $5. (Night will be this week though!)

This last photo isn't great, but it shows the glittery heart best. I used spray adhesive to cover one of the hearts, then sprinkled it with prisma glitter to make it extra sparkly!

Another Cupcake Card

I made this card using the new "Let the Good Times Roll" stamp set. This stamp set is FREE when you buy $25 in stamps from me!

I used the More to Adore paper, colors are chocolate, blush, and hollyhock. For the frosting, I used liquid applique and sprinkled it with glitter while it was still wet. To use liquid applique, apply like puff paint where you'd like it. Then use a heat tool to make the liquid applique poof up! (This technique makes for a more even poof if you let the liquid applique dry over night, then poof, but I'm not patient enough to do that.) I used a sponge dauber on the frosting to add a little color to it.
