Baby Onesie Cards/Invitations

I made 30 invitations for my sister's baby shower! I used several different papers from the DCWV Animal Crackers glitter paper stack and a few different embellishments, but I tried to keep it pretty simple since I had to make so many. It is actually fairly easy to make these onesie cards. I found a tutorial on Lauren Meader's blog here.

I first made one of these cards to go with a gift for a baby shower I attended. I've posted it before, but here it is again:
The girl cards are more fun to make because you can add the ruffles :)

Ms. Holiday Cheer Christmas Card

I made a bunch of these cards for a custom order...this Ms. Holiday Cheer stamp set is definitely one of my favorites! Her "fur" is glitter. I colored her in with CTMH My Exclusive Inks markers in Tulip, Topiary, chocolate, and bamboo (gives her skin an olive tone).

I've also been working on my sister's Baby Shower invitations. She is inviting about 30 I've been very busy! I'll share them soon.

Snowman Cut-Out Card

Here's a fun snowman card. Fold is at the top. I first cut out the circles. Then I layered them where I wanted on a piece of cardboard, traced them, and cut the template from the cardboard. Now I can make lots of these cute guys! I think I'll try some more lively ribbon-scarves. If you look closely you can see some glitter on the hat and left side of his body.

12 DAYS OF SCRAPBOOK PAGES Day 12: Baby Gifts Galore!

Thanks for taking a peek at my 12 DAYS OF SCRAPBOOKS! I have a grand finale for you today. Not only do you get to see some scrapbook pages, but a whole ensemble I put together for a baby shower gift.

I found this paper at JoAnn's craft store (on sale for 40% off, I might add) that fit the theme of the baby's room absolutely perfectly. Here is the 9"x9" album I made (I still need to finish the other side.) I started with just a plain white accordian album from Close to my Heart.

Here's a close-up of the front, which is chipboard.

The back is chipboard as well.

And here are the inside pages.

I also made a matching keepsake box from Close to my Heart's Memory Keeper box.

Here is the box at an angle so you can see that "BABY" is on 3D foam.

Here's my favorite part of the gift. This is my signature "What's in a Name?" Frame. (I sell if you're interested in one of your own, please let me know.) The mom and dad are still deciding between 2 names, so the blank squares will eventually spell the baby's name. But both names have an "A" so I was able to do one letter so they can see what it will look like. I cut the letters on double-sided sticky paper on my cricut, then covered it in silver glitter. (I use Martha Stewart's's super sparkly!)

This is the matching card I made. You can find instructions to make your own on Lauren Meader's blog here. I cut the monkey out of the paper. Yes, even the tail. It's a little insane, I know. But I do it while watching TV so it's not so bad. Plus, how cute does this monkey look...isn't it worth it?!

And here's everything together. The mom LOVED it! (And so did everyone else at the shower!)

Here is my inspiration for the gifts. This is actually a placemat, but it's hung in the room as wall art. The colors are a bit more subdued, but there is a bright green rug in the room, the color green in these gifts, so I figured it was ok to go a little brighter :)
Thanks for looking and for following my 12 DAYS OF SCRAPBOOKS!

12 DAYS OF SCRAPBOOK PAGES Day 11: Chris's Birthday

I forgot to get in the pictures for my husband's birthday...he's posing with my sister here. My sister was 6 months pregnant at this point and we thought she was going to pop...I can't believe she got even bigger than this! My favorite picture, though, is my dog in the mirror. He was just chillin' like that throughout dinner. He's the best!

The polka dot paper is from the silhouette paper pack. The stamp set is It's Your Day, which was August's stamp of the month.

12 DAYS OF SCRAPBOOK PAGES Day 10: More Tickled Pink

Chris's aunt got married a couple years ago and I finally got around to scrapbooking the wedding. Karen and Mike were friends for many many years before finally getting hitched, and the family couldn't have been happier! Everyone loves Mike and he was practically family before...but now it's official :)

I used the Tickled Pink paper from May's special from Close to my Heart. I love this paper...wish it were still available. This Love Always stamp set is classic for any wedding. Here's a card I made with it to give you another idea. (It really looks better in person.)

12 DAYS OF SCRAPBOOK PAGES Day 9: Los Angelitos Orphanage

Almost 2 years ago some friends and I went to Los Angelitos Orphanage in Tijuana to just love on the kids. We brought them lots of clothes, books, blankets, toys, etc. and played on their playground and went swimming with them. It was such a blessing to be around these kids, who have been in the orphanage where they have hardly anything, and still be happy as can be.

I tried reprinting the bottom left picture about 4 times, and even when it looked bright on my computer screen, it still printed dark. I can't figure it out. But I like the picture so I included it anyway.

See the small date in the bottom right corner? This has become one of my favorite new stamp sets...Save the Date (it also comes in Spanish and French, in case you were wondering). The months and years are the perfect size to tuck in the corner of your layouts. I like to remember the dates and have them look nice, but I don't like them to be in your face. The best part about using stamps from Close to my Heart is that they're you can see EXACTLY where you're stamping them! I used to use wooden rubber stamps, and I got frustrated because I'm such a perfectionist...they don't mix well with scrapbooking. That's why I LOVE CTMH's MyAcrylix stamps.

I used the Title Topper layout from Reflections. If you don't have's awesome! It's one of Close to my Heart's how-to books on scrapbooking. I told you about Imagine a few posts ago, and this is the same idea but instead of 2-page layouts, Reflections is single pages. There are tons of scrapbook pages as inspiration, complete with cutting guides and instructions on how to make them. But of course, you are free to adapt them for your pictures as necessary. It's a great jumping off point to make your scrapbook pages come together quickly.

12 DAYS OF SCRAPBOOK PAGES Day 8: More Mammoth in Aspen Paper

These pictures are from Mammoth last Thanksgiving (I guess I'm going backwards...the previous post was from Christmas). For the last several years Chris and I have gone to Mammoth after Thanksgiving dinner. (For those reading who do not know, Chris's parents have a condo up there...which is why we are able to go so often!)

There wasn't a whole lot of snow yet when we got there, but a big storm came in and left several feet of powder. Oslo had a blast. My favorite thing to do when there's a storm outside is's so inspiring! I get more scrapbook pages done in Mammoth than anywhere else.

I used the Aspen paper again...because it's just too perfect for all my snow pics. These snowflakes are so cool! They're stamps, but I didn't use ink. I got Martha Stewart's glue pad and stamped them in that, then sprinkled them in glitter. I cut out the pieces of the large snowflake (from the Uniquely You stamp set), and if you look at the close-up below, I just stamped the smaller flakes (from the retired Steep and Deep stamp set) onto the page and glittered them up. I {heart} glitter! (Be sure to clean your stamps right away when you use the glue pad or they get gummy and hard to clean.)

12 DAYS OF SCRAPBOOK PAGES Day 7: Mammoth in Aspen Paper

I have TONS of pictures from Mammoth. #1 because we go so often, #2 because I love taking pictures there (it's so pretty and I love the snow), #3 because my dog is so darn happy and funny when we're there! So here is the first layout of many SNOW pictures to come!

These were taken just after Christmas last year. We were able to go up for about a week...the longest I've been there in one trip. It was absolutely amazing! We had a little of everything...snow and sun, friends and family, and LOTS of playtime!

(click for larger view)

I used Aspen paper, Twilight accessories from the Winter Cozy collection, hemp, and the new Dimensional Elements On Target. The stamp sets are the Friendship Alphabet (large and small) from last September's Close to my Heart special (I use them all the time...I wish they were still available!).

Saturday, October 10, 2009

These are some pictures from April when Chris's cousin and his family came to visit from Minnesota. Their 2 kids are absolutely precious. We went to a park near Chris's parents' house...Oslo, Chris and the kids all had a great time. Elise was the flower girl in our wedding when she was just 3 (3 years ago).

Friday, October 9, 2009

It's almost time for favorite time of the year! I LOVE how this page turned out. I used the Evensong paper from Close to my Heart. The "Noel" embellishment is actually a gift family always gets the handmade-looking gift tags Costco and I hoard them every year. They make fun of me...but doesn't it look cute? I also love the new glittery twinkle brads from CTMH. All my Christmas layouts from this year are going to be on the new Jingle paper...check it out. I love that it still looks Christmasy but isn't the traditional Christmas colors.

I'm working on a lot of baby shower gifts right now...they're turning out AMAZINGLY cute, so I'll be posting pictures soon.

12 DAYS OF SCRAPBOOK PAGES Day 4: Thanksgiving

This layout was inspired by Melissa Laverty. She did a super cute Halloween layout that I loved, so I rotated the pages and adapted it to work for my Thanksgiving pictures. I used paper from Martha Stewart...the colors work perfectly with my pictures.

12 DAYS OF SCRAPBOOK PAGES Day 3: Tickled Pink

For this layout I used the Tickled Pink paper that I had left over from the May CTMH Campaign. It works perfectly for Easter. This layout is inspired by "Nice & Simple" from Imagine. I love the crochet flowers and twinkle brads...they add just the right touch.

12 DAYS OF SCRAPBOOK PAGES Day 1: Back Country

Here is the first post of my 12 DAYS OF SCRAPBOOK PAGES...lots of inspiration to come! Lately I have been making scrapbook gifts and planning workshops, which has left little time for my own scrapbook. I LOVE planning workshops, but it's nice to be able to work on my own projects for a change. :) I've been busy...and over the next 12 days I'll be sharing the fruit of my labor.

Paper: Back Country
Stamp set: Backwoods

Kind of funny story behind this layout. I really wanted to use this CTMH Back Country paper for these pictures, but I didn't have the paper pack. I didn't really want to order the whole paper pack because I don't have much use for it. But I DID have the CTMH summer paper sampler with the Back Country paper in it! The paper samplers come as 6"x6" I made it work :)
