Ms. Holiday Cheer Christmas Card

This "Ms. Holiday Cheer" is my favorite Christmas stamp set and the jingle paper is also a favorite of mine. I do love tradition, but I also love the non-traditional, and this card represents the non-traditional Christmas side of me. Her "fur" is white fun flock (crushed velvet). I simply colored the area with a glue pen, then poured fun flock on the glue.

Sorry for the bad picture, I lost my camera so all my photos are being taken on my iphone. (I asked for a camera for Christmas!)

Random Stamping: How to make your own designer paper

Isn't this paper cute? Do you believe it's just plain white cardstock that I've stamped?! I love how versatile stamps are...I can make my own paper in whatever images and whatever colors I want. I used just one stamp set and 4 colors of ink to make this paper. The best part about using Close to my Heart's stamps is that they're made of acrylic, which means you can see through them, and see exactly where you're stamping! I've found that the best way to get a random look is to stamp your images in triangles and be sure to stamp off the page.

Supplies used:

Delight in Everything MyAcrylix stamp set
3" x 3" acrylic block
1" x 1" acrylic block
Cranberry stamp pad
Buttercup stamp pad
Olive stamp pad
Breeze stamp pad (retired - Crystal Blue is a close substitute)

Shop Handmade

I started a new online store on Shop Handmade. Some of you may remember that I had an Etsy shop, but I found that I like Shop Handmade better - it's the same idea. I've been working hard to create inventory for my shop, and my friend, Lauren, of Bullock Productions was nice enough to take some great photos! Here are a few photos of items in my shop. Check out my complete shop...and tell your friends! I'll be adding more and more items...lots of gift ideas and Christmas cards and tags.

Zoo Animals Gift Tags

I cut out a bunch of circles from zoo animal paper for my sister's baby shower cards and ended up not using most of them. I knew I could use them for something so I saved them. Then my great idea came to me...turn them into gift tags! They turned out pretty darn cute if you ask me. I used a 1-3/4" circle punch, 2" scalloped circle punch, cardstock, hemp, and a "to" and "from" stamp/ink. Pretty darn simple and cute. I'm selling these and other fun items in my etsy shop.

These are the matching baby shower invitations I made for my sister (similar cards soon to show up in my etsy shop).

Christmas Gift Tags

I made most of these gift tags with the Christmas Melodies stamp set. I simply stamped the images, cut them out, punched a hole and added bling & ribbon. They're cute, easy, and you can make your own from just one stamp set...which you can get for FREE in November. Close to my Heart is having my favorite sale now through November 30 - buy 2 stamp sets, get one free! Now's the time to get those stamp sets you've had your eye on or buy gifts for the crafters in your life. You can place your order on my website - jaymamalme.myctmh.com or by emailing me at jaymalew[at]gmail.com.
