How to Fix a Stamping Mess-Up: It's Your Day Bike & Balloon Scene Card

Ah, I finally had some time to play with the It's Your Day stamp set (the current special going on with CTMH—get it for just $5) and my new pigment inks. I LOVED my fabulously talented friend and downline Amy's card here, so I set out to create my own.

But I am an impatient crafter. I did not let the ink dry thoroughly before handling the pieces I stamped and got pigment-ink fingerprints on the white card base. But don't fear...I like to say there's never a failed craft can fix almost anything!

The It's Your Day set comes with these cute little stars, so I just added them in olive ink to cover my fingerprints! LOL! I think it would look better without the stars and I am going to try this card again...maybe with regular inks...but hey, at least my first attempt was not in vain :)

So there you have it, stamping saves the day when you have a stamping mishap.

Here's what the It's Your Day stamp set looks like. So fun and trendy. Perfect for cardmaking and scrapbooking. How great is it for Project Life/Project 365 scrapbooks?! You can get it for just $5 when you place a $35 order on my website for regular-priced items! And if your order is $50 or more you can also get the Stamp of the Month for another $5. Double the fun! Using CTMH's Alcohol-Based Markers: Video Tutorial

This video from CTMH corporate will show you how to use the two complimentary colors that our new alcohol-based markers come in to color the leaves in this amazing piece of fall or autumn artwork! Learn how to easily blend the shades for a smooth look.

CTMH alcohol markers are not meant to replace or compete with Copic markers, but they are used in a similar fashion. You can use our new pigment ink to stamp the image you want to color, and once it dries it the alcohol markers will not bleed with the ink! Our CTMH cardstock is all you need to color fancy paper to buy!

If you'd like to create this project, you'll need these supplies:

Exclusive Inks Alcohol markers
Burlap ribbon

Fall Wedding Invitations & Thank You Card

This summer has been filled will lots of fun wedding crafting projects! I created these wedding invitations for a friend who is getting married this fall. She loved the design of my wedding invitations and asked if I could create something similar for her in her wedding colors. Of course!
It's a gatefold card, here's what it looks like when it's open. I used copper shimmer paper from Paper Source for the base. This paper is SUPER heavy. It was actually hard to score and fold...had to run my bone folder over the folds a couple of times. But it is perfect for invitations because of its high quality.
Here are some detail shots. The swirl on the front of the invitation was from The Invitation Factory, where I ordered the supplies for my invitations. I used Paper Source Luxe White paper for the square on front and inside of the invitations. I like this paper for invitations because it's not only heavy weight, but has a little texture to it.
I love combining my skills in paper crafting and graphic design for invitations.
And of course I had to make a cute little matching thank-you card for her, also using Paper Source Luxe White cardstock as the base. The copper shimmer brad from CTMH was the perfect accessory to match the copper paper. And the Goldrush cardstock matched her wedding colors perfectly. I got the organdy ribbon from a wholesale mart. The stamp is from the retired Thank You stamp set, still one of my favorite go-to sets!

Thanks for stopping by. I hope I inspired you today!

My Favorite {CTMH} Things Blog Hop: Burlap Ribbon

Welcome to our My Favorite {CTMH} Things Blog Hop!

Today some of my fabulous Playing With Paper team and I are sharing artwork featuring some of our favorite products from CTMH. This month is our very first team blog hop and we're really excited to share some great ideas on how to use some specific CTMH products, ones you might even overlook in the Idea Book.

Today I am featuring our awesome burlap ribbon. I LOVE burlap. And as CTMH does again and again, they came out with the *perfect* product. It's a nice width, it doesn't stink like a lot of burlap does, it has bound edges so it won't fray, and is a nice weight...not too heavy and not too brittle. Just right so that it's sturdy but not too heavy for cards, scrapbook layouts, or 3D Cricut-cut paper projects! And if you want it to fray, simply cut off the edges and you can pull off some strands.

Without further adieu, here is my project...

I used my favorite new paper pack, Flirty, and CTMH's new how-to book, Make It from Your Heart for the card pattern. And I have wanted to make this burlap flower ever since I saw Tresa's here. It's less than a foot of burlap ribbon, folded in half lengthwise, then formed into a flower with hot glue, similar to how I made the ribbon flower pin in this video. I finished it off with a beautiful rhinestone designer brad.

I used the Congratulations stamp that came with the Artiste collection and embossed it with silver embossing powder. I can't even remember the last time I heat was fun!

I hot glued the burlap flower to a hair clip and slid it onto the card so it could be removed and reused.

It also makes a great addition to your purse...

Or as an embellishment on your shoes!

Now hop on over to Jennifer's blog for your next stop.

Here's a list of my fabulous team members participating. I am so lucky to have such a talented group...I hope you are inspired by everyone!
