U and Me 4 ever {What's in a Frame}

This was a fun frame to create..my husband's friend asked me to make a Valentine's Day gift for his fiance. He came up with the photo idea all on his own after seeing my framed artwork on Facebook! He even made sure to get a good picture of them the weekend after I spoke with him just for this gift :)

He and his fiance are big Chargers fans so the only suggestion he really gave me was Chargers colors, and to also make it Valentine-y...so I did :) I think it's cute, and most importantly, they both loved it!

I really like how the black cardstock matting makes the whole thing pop with the black frame :)

I used the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge to cut the hearts, raffle ticket, and both swirls. Then I stamped the blue heart with the swirls stamp from the You and Me stamp set (retired). The raffle ticket stamp is one that comes with the Art Philosophy Collection...yay! Love how there are so many CTMH stamp sets that coordinate with the Art Philosophy cartridge now!

If you'd like more information about the Art Philosophy Cricut collection (and why I think it's a must-have), read this >

Cupcake Baby Name Nursery Decor {What's in a Frame}

I had so much fun creating this girly girl cupcake nursery decor! I was so excited to receive this order because the cupcake theme was new to me, and my Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge has a great cupcake shape!

I love creating all the frames I have done, but I especially love when I can add some glitter and bling ;) What's girl's life is complete without it, right?

To create the glitter "frosting," I squirted a little silver glitter gel on the cupcake and spread it with my finger. Once it was dry it curled a bit so I used lots of adhesive to glue it down. The letters were also cut on my Cricut with Art Philosophy. I used double-sided sticky paper and once I stuck each letter to its square I sprinkled it with silver Martha Stewart glitter. (If you don't have the Art Philosophy Cricut collection yet...you seriously need it! More info >)

Do you recognize all the CTMH paper I used? They're listed below.

I also made this matching light switch cover using one of the papers from the frame and the same cupcake shape from the Cricut. (Pardon the wavy paper...I took the pic before it was completely dry...oops!)

This is Julia's cupcake crib bedding that I used as inspiration to be sure I matched her nursery perfectly. Cute, right?!
Have a happy, crafty day!

Flashback Friday Challenge

Have you heard of the Flashback Friday Challenge blog yet? It's fairly new, and I just found it! The purpose of the blog is to dig up our past creations and re-post them based on the challenge for the week.

This past week's challenge (the blog's 20.0 challenge) is black and white cards. I don't think I've created a solely black and white card, which is weird because I LOVE black and white. But I made this one for one of the first CTMH parties I taught...for Valentine's Day 3 years ago.

To see the original post with details, like covering one of the hearts with glitter, click here.

I just started following the Flashback Friday blog, so I'm sure you can expect to see more fun re-posts from me. I hope you'll join in on the fun, too!

(Special thanks to my friend Lauren and Lauren Natalie Photography for taking the great pics of my card!)

Creating Blooming Fourishes and Faux Lace with CTMH Acrylic Stamps

Here's another great video from Close to my Heart showing some fun techniques with stamps!

I love flourishes, and I love how she shows how to create a continuous flourish around your project with The Best Things stamp set. (BTW, how adorable is that new Bookmark Album?!) You'll also see how to create faux lace using the new Just For You stamp set...one of my favorites!

I hope you're inspired to play around with your stamps to create some unique looks for your artwork!

Happy crafting :)

Double the Use from Your Stamp Sets

Hi guys! I wanted to share this video from Close to my Heart that shows how versatile stamping can be. By changing the colors of your ink and paper, you can use the same stamp sets for feminine or masculine layouts or cards! It's a quick 2-minute video and I'm sure you'll take something away from it :)

Also, a HUGE thanks to all of you who voted for my card on Hobby Lobby's Facebook page...I won! I'm so excited to go on a shopping spree with my $50 gift card :)

Happy creating!
