Lollydoodle Scrapbook Layout Using New CTMH Stamps & Embellishments + Lots of Photo Tips!

Hello!

I am taking a break from Artfully Sent posts to share this cute scrapbook layout with you today. I just adore these photos of Kailyn and our dog, Oslo.

She was between 7-8 months old here and on the verge of crawling. She can't get enough of her doggie! He loves her, too, but loved her more when she couldn't chase him and crawl on him. LOL! Her "thing" now is to lay on him and give him a big, sweet hug, but he still doesn't like it. He's a good sport, though. :)

The paper is from the retired Lollydoodle paper pack but I used several current stamps:  Hopscotch alphabet, Owls ("you & me"), Happy Birds ("Happy" on navy cardstock), and True to Life ("Way Cute").

Do you need an easy way to edit and order your photos?

I have become a self-proclaimed expert phone-photo-editor because I have more time to use my phone than my computer. So I thought I'd share some of my favorite photo apps with you.

Photo Editor: My favorite photo editor is PicTapGo. It's $2.99 and worth every penny. I have tried TONS of photo editors and this is the easiest and best I've found for straight editing. I think its best feature is "lights on," which does a great job of lightening photos that are too dark. It also has lots of filters, which you can use as intended or at a % of filter "strength." You can also use more than one filter for a very customized look, and you can save your "recipes" to use later. For example, if I have a dark photo, I can use "lights on" to lighten it, and I can even try "lights on" again to to even lighter, then bring it down 50% if the 2nd time was too light. Then I can warm it up and auto-color. Check it out.

Collage: I like to make photo collages to text to family and post on Facebook so that they can see a string of photos in one snapshot. Then I started ordering prints of those collages, like in the scrapbook layout above. It's a fun effect and a great way to include several smaller/similar photos from an event. My favorite app for collages Is called Photo Collage. There is a free version but I got the pro version for $1.99 because I got tired of the ads. You can make 4x6 or square collages.

Ordering Prints: I found an app called FreePrints, which is made by PhotoAffections.com. Through the app you get 85 free 4x6 prints per month and you can pay for additional prints and sizes, then just pay shipping. I like the quality of their prints and the app is SUPER easy to use!! They kind of make up for the "free" prints with shipping, but they don't charge a crazy amount. I think I paid more on Shutterfly and I like these better.

FreePrints is really easy to use. You can zoom/crop your photos by just pinching on your screen, you can choose various sizes really easily, and then order easily. You can do limited editing, like crop, rotate, and turn to black & white, but that's ok with me because I edit in PicTapGo first. I have ordered from them a couple of times now and the quality is great. I like matte finish because it looks more professional.

The thing I liked best about this app at first is that I could load my square photos into the app and order a 4x6, and it wouldn't automatically zoom/crop the photo to a 4x6, it left it as a 4x4 square with an inch of blank space on either side. This is a HUGE plus for me! You can even upgrade to 5x5 square prints for $.49. That's what I used on the scrapbook page above.

Use code jmalme1 if you get the app and I'll get more free photos per month--but I'm not sharing this with you just for the code! I truly love this app!

Print photos for Project Life & Picture My Life

Here's another tip: Use a collage to print photos for Project Life & Picture My Life!

When you make a 4x6 collage you can choose portrait or landscape orientation. Then add 2 (or more) photos to the 4x6 collage and once printed you have the right size for your 2x3 pockets.

I hope this helped. Let me know if you have any questions or comments.

What photo apps do you love and recommend?

Scotty Dog Swing Card

Happy weekend!

You may have noticed that I've been posting more on my blog lately. That's because the Artfully Sent Cricut cartridge makes it so quick and easy to make eye-catching cards!

Here is card #2 of 3 Scotty Dog cards that I made for my co-worker. I shared the adorable Scotty Dog & Telephone Booth card HERE. I have another video below on how to make this card...

TIP: Save your "negative" cuts! I used the heart cut-out on the inside of the card. You can see another Cricut card HERE in which I made 2 cards from just one Cricut cut.

The pink card base is from our new Paper Fundamentals cardstock pack. It makes a lovely card base, don't you think?

Here is the video I made showing how to make this card.
(Sorry for the abrupt cuts again--I turned 1 video into 3 parts.)

I hope I've shown you how awesome ARTFULLY SENT is! If you have decided to purchase it for yourself, you can do so here...

Artfully Sent Scotty Dog Telephone Booth Card

Hello!

Today I have a super cute Scotty Dog card to share with you! My co-worker has 2 Scotty dogs and when I told her that my new Cricut cartridge has a Scotty dog she was so excited! Well low and behold, there are THREE Scotty dog cards on Artfully Sent! I made all 3 in one night after Kailyn went to bed--that's how easy this cartridge makes cardmaking!

The first one I made is in the very beginning of the handbook, on page 1. Isn't it fun? I made a video showing how to assemble this card...it's below!
I was planning to doll it up with some accessories but decided to leave it as-is. The glittery word bubble and chevron Scotty dog added enough interest, and I wanted the fun, intricate cuts to speak for themselves!

Here's a close-up of the chevron pattern on the Scotty dog. So fun!

This is what the cuts look like in the Artfully Sent handbook.

Here is a video I made showing how to assemble this. It's so easy!

**This is video 1 of 3 in my Scotty Dog Card series. Sorry for some abrupt cuts...I recorded 1 video for 3 cards then decided to cut it into 3!**

Thanks for visiting!

Glitter, Sequins, Chevron & Arrows - Artfully Sent Card

I am learning that you really can't go wrong with any of the cards on the Artfully Sent Cricut cartridge. I pretty much knew that already because all of CTMH's Cricut cartridges ROCK my socks off, but I just had to say it out loud. Or in writing.

I love arrows. And chevron. And sequins. And glitter. This card has it all. And it's quick to create. Major plus!
Our CTMH glitter paper comes with 3 sheets per package...same color in different hues. So it makes it easy to get a cool ombre effect for this card!

I used the Black and Gray glitter paper pack and cut skinny strips. Then I adhered them with glue dots and adhesive tape to the inside of the card. (Glue dots stick well to the glitter.) By the way, our glitter paper is awesome...it's really thick and cuts like butter on the Cricut!
I used our new Paper Fundamentals cardstock, which has a solid color on one side with a UV coating pattern in it. And the other side has the same pattern in the color + white.

Makes for a cool look on the inside. I could have kept the pattern showing on the inside but I wanted to cover up the back of the glitter paper strips. So I cut slightly smaller panels for the inside of the card, showing some of the pattern around the edges.
Here's the card in the handbook, it's on page 36. Notice that it tells you what size to cut it out...so handy :) I love that I don't have to think about what size to set my Expression at. You can always cut it bigger if you want, but the proportions of the design were made for it to be a standard A2 size - 4.25" x 5.5".
Thanks for visiting...happy Cricuting!

I hope I've shown you how awesome ARTFULLY SENT is! If you have decided to purchase it for yourself, you can do so here...

Halloween Haunted House Artfully Sent Card

Guess what? I have another Artfully Sent card to share!

**Be sure to "like" my Facebook page for peeks at my cards before I blog them!**

I decided to try out this haunted house scene card to send to my niece and nephew. CTMH made a similar card that I was inspired by...I just changed the colors and added my own touch.

This is what it looks like completely closed. I put little googly eyes peeking out of the windows. My niece and nephew are gonna love that :)

Here it is opened just a little bit. Cool shadow :) I don't know why the moon above looks so bright yellow...below is more real-life.

And here's what it looks like completely open. Both of the stamps COME in the Artfully Sent collection.  I used Archival Black ink to stamp...it's a richer black than the regular black ink. (But it also stains your stamps more...wash them right away!) I have always had a thing for stars and I love the new white enamel stars. They come in 2 sizes and you get tons in the package.

Here's a close-up of the moon. I used a piece of honey cardstock and then inked a Tim Holtz inking tool with Sunset ink and gently rubbed it over the moon to give it a sunset look. Then I adhered the yellow piece to the back of the Gypsy (purple) cardstock.

I wasn't sure how the details would cut on my Expression but I think it turned out quite well!

This card is on page 44 of the handbook. The finished size is 5"x7" and (unless you have the Explore), you just need to set your Cricut dial size to 7" and each piece will cut to the right size...even though the inside (purple) piece is a little smaller...keep the dial at 7" and it will cut the relative size for a 5x7 card. So cool!

Super Hero Pop-Up Card From Artfully Sent Cricut Cartridge

Here is the next card I got to make with my new Artfully Sent Cricut cartridge over the weekend. I am going to a little boy's birthday party soon so this is the perfect card for him!
I kept it simple on the front because the inside is what makes a statement!

Tadaaaa! Isn't it cute?

It will look even better if you have the new Cricut Explore. My Expression isn't so good at the small, detailed words. (Hoping for an Explore for my birthday over here!)

Here's a video I made showing how to put it together...

I didn't even use any patterned paper, stamps, or ink. It's all cardstock cut with the Artfully Sent Cricut cartridge!

Are you ready to purchase Artfully Sent?!

I'll send you a free stamp set AND a free accessory as a thank-you gift, along with a handmade card!
