Cricut Artfully Sent Sweet Baby Card

Today I have a simple and elegant baby card to share with you, made with CTMH's Artfully Sent Cricut cartridge. I still can't get enough of this cart--it really makes it oh-so-easy to make cards, while at the same time elevating them the next level!

I wanted to add some sparkle in just a few spots. So first I cut the pink base at 7" height. (It's designed to be 5"x7"). Then I cut a white piece slightly smaller than 5x7, this will be what shows through the front of the card.

Next I set the white insert inside and close the card. I used the cuts on the front as a guide to make pencil marks on the white insert--this would tell me where to add the glitter pieces.

I used 1/2" glitter tape from American Crafts (I wanted it a little wider than CTMH's 1/4" shimmer trim). This stuff is great because it's self-adhesive. I just stuck it down right over my pencil guides.

Once the glitter tape was adhered where I wanted it, I added adhesive to the inside of the card base. This way I could get really close to the cut-outs so they stay down well. Be sure you don't get too close to the edge of the card since the insert is slightly smaller.

Tada! An elegant card for a sweet little baby :) I added a bitty sparkle in each corner as well. Because, well, I can never have too much bling!

If you are a cardmaker, the Artfully Sent Cricut collection is seriously your best friend. It has been a huge time-saver for me. As a momma to a toddler and having a full-time job, my crafty time has been significantly reduced. But this cartridge allows me to still get my craft on! (Which helps keep me sane.)

Get More Out of Your Stamps: Brushed Workshop on the Go With a Twist

Hello, and TGIF! Today I have a scrapbook layout to share with you. This layout is featured in the Brushed Workshop on the Go and would be perfect for your Easter photos. I wanted to show you how I put some twists on it to better suit my photos and my style.
This is the layout that is shown in the kit:

And this is my layout:
I used the same general layout and embellishing, which took out most of the guesswork. Using the cutting diagram and general instructions is a huge time-saver!

I love doing CTMH's Workshops on the Go (WOTG). They always feature several great techniques, I always learn new things! For example, take a look at the diamond background. It's created by cutting an overlay from the Artbooking Cricut cartridge and using it as a mask. Then I took sponge daubers and sponged over the mask with my inks.

The kit also includes a tip to make your stamps stretch farther. If you notice there are 2 sizes of butterflies on the layout. But in the stamp set (see below), there is only 1 butterfly stamp. I used my Cricut to cut out the butterfly in the same size as the stamp, and one size smaller (these sizes are given in the guide). You can still use the stamp on a smaller butterfly! I probably wouldn't have thought of that! (There are also alternative instructions if you are not using a Cricut.)

I love these beautiful metal flowers that come in the kit. They are available separately as well (as are all embellishments in the kit), but you save some money by buying the kit. But the WOTG kit is the only way to get the exclusive stamp set! (This stamp set was a must-have for me!)

TIP: Do you notice in the stamp set below that the sentiment I used is actually all one stamp? I didn't want "My heart is filled with sunshine" all in one line so I just snipped it into 2 stamps! Easy peasy and you can always mount them on your acrylic block together again. This is just another way to get more out of your stamps!

Here's all that comes in the Brushed WOTG kit. The guide is full color with cutting diagrams and instructions to put the layout together. You also get the full Brushed paper pack, washi tape, Brushed Assortment, and this adorable exclusive stamp set. All for only $29.95.

There are lots more WOTG kits, as well! Check them all out >

Masculine Papercrafted 3D Beer Stein and Beer Card

Last week I mentioned that I was making something special with my Cricut for my hubby's St. Patrick's Day birthday. I am excited to share this with you--it's the most complicated I've ever gotten with the Cricut!

My friend Stephanie told me about some beer stein shapes at I cannot believe I had never checked out this website!!! There is some super cool stuff and all the files are ready to import and are pretty straightforward, even though they look complicated. There are videos on how to put all the projects together which were really helpful.
This 3D beer stein is part of a whole St. Paddy's "Feeling Lucky" SVG Kit for only $6.99! I got it when it was the free gift with a $9.98 purchase--score! (Darn, I had to buy more SVGs to get it free!) ;) You get A LOT for your money!
This would also make a great Father's day gift or non-St. Paddy's Day birthday gift...just change the colors and the embellishment on the front of the stein.
I'm usually a 1- or 2-layer Cricut kind of gal. But this was actually easier to make than I expected with the Explore! I left out a few parts to simplify it and it still looks good. My only complaint is that the score lines did not translate into Design Space. I don't know if I did something wrong or if it's the software/file. This was the first time I've worked with an SVG file and not a Cricut cartridge cut. But it turned out okay! The hardest part is deciding which paper to use, but I love how you can change the colors of the layers in Design Space to see how certain colors will look together.

Here's the card I made for him, his favorite type of beer is IPA. This is also a file from from the Father's Day Mega Pack SVG kit. It's shown as a tiny mug on a gift tag--so I designed it in Cricut Design Space to be bigger and turned it into a card by duplicating each layer and welding it so it's attached and can fold.
It folds on the handle. But it's kind of floppy so if I make another I'll have it fold on the "glass" part and have the handle as just one layer on the opposite side. Live and learn! But he didn't care, he thought it was cool! He thought both paper gifts (and the real craft beers I gave him) were super cool!

Here's the special card that Kailyn made for Daddy :)

And here's my hubby enjoying his corned beef and cabbage and his beer(s). :)

Thanks for visiting! Have a crafty day!

Hopscotch PML Scrapbook Layout Using SELPHY Prints

It's been quite a while since I've had a scrapbook layout to share! I got a Canon SELPHY photo printer recently and I am LOVING it! It makes a world of difference for me to be able to print on demand, right from my phone since that's how I shoot & edit most of my photos. (More layouts to come!)

I created this one last weekend using CTMH's Hopscotch Picture My Life cards. (PML is CTMH's version of Project Life.)

The colors are very versatile. There were some cards in the kit that would not work with these photos, but the ones I chose go perfectly. Love the sayings and Dr. Seuss quote!

Tip: cut out the shapes from the cards! I could have cut a word bubble from my Cricut, but I liked this pink one for what I wanted to do. :)

These fun wood veneer word bubbles are from Studio Calico. I colored this one with a Shinhan Touch alcohol marker (Turquoise Blue) and then coated it with my Wink of Stella glitter brush. It's hard to see in the photo, but it give it a nice shimmer. I backed the word bubble with pink cardstock. I used mini glue dots to adhere it to the veneer.

Same idea with this veneer, but I only used Wink of Stella, no markers, and I backed it with shimmer trim.

This is a handmade PML/PL card. I cut some pink cardstock to 2"x3" and rounded the corners. I finally found the perfect use for my "Glitter Girl" stamp from the Glitter Glam stamp set. I added some silver stickles and shimmer trim and this card was good to go. So easy and adds a the perfect amount of bling to the layout. (To go with Kailyn's BLING sunglasses. LOVE!)

Here are shots of each side of the layout. I like to add my embellishments on top of the page protectors after everything in in place. Even Washi tape!

There are just a couple weeks left to order the items from the Seasonal Expressions 1 catalog. Be sure to snag the Hopscotch and Heartstrings collections (and a handful of other items) before they're gone forever. (They are only while supplies last, or until March 31.) View catalog >

And remember with a $50+ order you get the Stamp of the Month for only $5!

Kailyn's St. Patrick's Day Cards

It makes me giddy that Kailyn loves to do craft projects :) We made Valentine's cards last month (I forgot to take pictures before mailing!) and now St. Paddy's Day cards. St Patrick's Day is special in our house because it's my husband's birthday!

These are a few of the cards she made that we sent to family. She also made a special card for Daddy's birthday. I'll share that and some awesome Cricut projects I made for him later this week, once he sees them :)

I may have forgotten to take pictures of her Valentine's cards, but I got some cute pics of her making them! She especially loves the foam stickers...but she also likes to color.

How many of you are having Corned Beef & Cabbage for dinner tonight?!?! *raises hand* My husband had NEVER had it until a few years ago when my mom and I made it for his birthday dinner. He loved it. So I'm doing a crockpot version tonight. It's gonna smell GOOOOOD in our house when we get home from work!

Happy St. Paddy's Day, y'all!
